Welcome to the Naturopathic medical practice of Dr. Debra Clapp, ND, providing holistic health care and prolotherapy; serving Anacortes, Washington and Skagit Valley for over 15 years.
My office provides naturopathic family medicine for people from childhood on up. This includes the usual as well as unusual crop of colds, flus, digestive problems, allergies, respiratory illnesses, joint problems, fatigue, and more. Special areas of focus include stress-related illnesses, hypothyroidism, diabetes education and treatment, and female hormone imbalance. Areas commonly addressed include food quality, food allergies, environmental toxins, and hormone levels.
Also Offering Prolotherapy
In need of help for my own knees, I recalled the experience of a friend and colleague, who had shoulder pain 24/7 after being rear-ended in traffic. My friend went to a classmate for prolotherapy treatment, and within a day, the pain disappeared. She continued with more treatments, now has full use of her shoulder, and felt the initial and lasting pain relief was almost miraculous.
Prolotherapy does not provide that much immediate pain relief for most people, but when my joints started plaguing me, prolotherapy came to mind. I did not really need pain relief; I needed fewer dislocations, less weakness, less instability. In my research, I found no other therapy that could affect the connective tissue of joints as directly and as beneficially as prolotherapy. I was amazed to learn how often degeneration of these connective tissues precedes the development of common conditions such as osteoarthritis. Here is a treatment that can actually stimulate regrowth of partially torn or worn ligaments and tendons, and create new structures that are larger, stronger, and tighter. I decided to try it for myself.
I am so excited by the potential of this regenerative injection therapy to benefit joint function that I have trained in it and now offer it to patients.
